For Twiglet #137

Cleopatra’s Youthful Skin

A donkey mare, fresh with milk for her foal,
makes point five to one point three
liters of milk per day. Compute the size
of the Ptolemaic bath if Cleopatra travelled
with seven hundred mares and foals.
(Leave half of the milk for the foals.)
My grandmother slathered our sunburns
with buttermilk. I know why Cleo is shown
with flower petals strewn on the pool.
